Curriculum for Preschool

To help your child prepare for Kindergarten, I will be doing a structured preschool program from 8am-12pm.

We will be using The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care.  I have chosen this curriculum because it further supports my educational background by promoting everyday routines and experiences using household objects and regular situations in which to foster child development.  We will be focusing on these core areas:

  • Building relationships*

    • Ensuring children know who is a safe and caring adult

    • Helping children learn and understand interactions with peers

  • Guiding children’s behavior*

    • How to appropriately respond to various situations

    • Supporting the Development of Self-Regulation

    • Positive Guidance

    • Enabling children to solve problems

  • Guiding children’s learning*

    • Encourage independence

    • Hands-on learning

Your children will be exposed to many types of play throughout the 4 hour preschool time.

These experiences can include (but not limited to):

*blocks            *dramatic play           *art                     *cooking         *toys/games

*discovery       *stories/books           *sand/water        *outdoors

Families are welcome and encouraged to come participate in our activities.  Families are also welcome to teach about their heritage, family, culture and more that is unique to you.  Please contact me to discuss details.
